Growing entirely too fast

Apparently there is something in the water around here, everyone is pregnant. (No worries, not me) Devlan's teacher, people at work, ladies at church...you get the picture. With the news that one of my very best friends is cooking a baby in her belly the questions have begun. Devlan's only 6 and in my opinion a little young to have the full birds and bees talk. However, ever since Devlan found out that his best friend was going to be a big brother, he has become very stressed about how the baby will get out. See, he knows the general area from which a baby comes, the bottom half of the mommy, but he totally has the wrong orifice. He had mentioned multiple times about how he is worried that it will be too painful to push the baby out. All Devlan has is his own experience to relate to, and he has learned in his 6 short years that even a big poo can be painful, so have mercy if a baby needs to come out. So, after much toil, I think tonight I will have this delicate conversation with my little boy. I somehow believe that if I can shelter and protect him from the realities of this world, he will stay my baby forever. I know that seems ludicrous, but I'm completely in denial.....
